A Class Schedule is a report or detailed explanation about how the classes will be conducted during the work day and which teacher will take what class. In the school or any other educational institute, it’s possible that teachers might lose track of their classes or the students don’t understand how their classes will go for the next week. If this is the case, it can create problems for both the students and teachers. Because of this purpose, the administration sits around the desk and prepares this Class Schedule for all the levels i.e. classes in the school. This schedule is then distributed among all the teachers and professors in the school where some copies are also pasted on the notice board so the students can note down the details. With this proper schedule in operation, teachers understand how many classes they will attend on the next week and they can certainly adjust with other teachers if anyone wants to take a sick day or personal day off of work.

Key elements to include in a Class Schedule:

Name of the school or educational institute
Teacher of the class or name of HOD
Name of the month for which you are preparing this schedule
All days of the week that need to go on the schedule
A separate section in which all the subjects are explained
If you are going to use codes for classes and subjects, a summary of all codes and subjects
A separate row in the upper part that will be used for time or hour of the day

Guidelines for Class Schedule Format:

Before creating the schedule, gather all the data that you will need including subject names, duration for each class and name of the teachers. This way when you actually put the data in the schedule, you won’t miss anything.
If you download the schedule format from internet, you just need to enter required information and the schedule will be created for you but when you don’t want to pay any money for this simple task, start MS Word and help yourself to a functioning Class Schedule.
Usually there is not enough space on the schedule to put full name of all subjects which means if you are also going to use codes or nicknames, create a separate section where you explain the codes and subjects.
The first row of the schedule represents all the days of the month where the first column represents the days of the week. You can also put each day on the first row and time or duration for each class in the first column.
In the box that comes in front of each column and row, enter the name of the class, name of subject and name of teacher who will teach that subject. You can use either name of subject or code for the subject.
Leave the row for recess empty in the schedule because it’s lunch time and there won’t be any classes during this time.
If you sometime have to add an additional class in the beginning or end of the school time, leave empty rows at top and bottom that will be filled with extra class details.
